Ahead of elections for new (CVHA) Board Members this fall, I ask that each of you reading this post take time this summer to seriously consider running for election to join the Board. This October four Board positions will be up for election, and it is critical that homeowners who are dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of our community join the all-volunteer Board.
Preserving the strength and continuity of our Board is very important. Without a full
Board, the CVHA runs the risk of not being able to cover all its responsibilities, from
resolving Covenant issues, to managing our security patrols, to running clean-up weeks, to overseeing the maintenance and well-being of our Common Areas - just to name a few.
Should our association of homeowners have to hire a property management company due to a diminishing Board, that expense will consume or could even exceed our annual revenue and the relationship between homeowners and a new management company is guaranteed to be less congenial than with the current homeowner-represented Board. Worst of all, your property values and the quality of our community could suffer as a result.
Key members who have volunteered for many years on the CVHA Board will end their service this year. We’re looking for volunteers willing to step up and run for election this fall - who are willing to serve their community for a two-year term. No previous board experience is necessary, and our Board greatly benefits from a wide variety of skill sets and experiences.
Obligations of Board Members include a two-hour monthly meeting, occasional project assignments, and responding to homeowner inquiries.
If you are interested in learning more, you can email our Administrator Jodie at
infocvha@gmail.com or contact any Board Member directly to discuss in more detail.
All Board contact information can be accessed by logging in to your private account at www.comstockvillagehoa.com and clicking on the “Contact” tab on the top right side of the home page. If you feel led to throw your hat in the ring for the October election, please email Jodie a short biography by 29 August so we can include it in the upcoming fall newsletter.
Thank you for your consideration of this request as we strive to keep Comstock Village a great place to live and grow our families.
Warm Regards,
Chas Cox
President, CVHA
